UlcerGard (omeprazole) Oral Paste Ulcer Treatment for Horses

UlcerGard Oral Paste

Each easy to administer tube contains 2.28 grams of FDA approved omeprazole for horses to aid in the prevention of gastric ulcers. UlcerGard is a non-prescription preventative for Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS), a painful condition that can reduce your horse's performance and can even lead to death.

UlcerGard contains omeprazole*, which suppresses acid production in a horse's stomach. ULCERGARD® has been shown to effectively aid in the prevention of gastric ulcers in horses. This effect was tested in horses exposed to stressful conditions for either 8 or 28 days.

Once daily administration of ULCERGARD is recommended in horses exposed to stressful conditions which may include: training, racing, showing, traveling, stall confinement, and competition.

Recommended dosage for UlcerGard®:

• Less than 600 lbs - Consult a veterinarian
• 600-1200 lbs - 1 dose per day
• Over 1200 lbs - 2 doses per day

Treatment period 8 or 28 days.

ULCERGARD may be used safely in breeding stallions. Safety in pregnant mares has not been determined.
